Strategy and Governance

With the Green Office, the central sustainability unit within the portfolio of the Executive Vice President, sustainability is structurally embedded at TU Clausthal.

Under the thematic umbrella of the circular economy, we work collaboratively to address the challenges of a sustainable society. This commitment has been formalized in our mission statement through a participatory process involving all status groups.

Circular economy, renewable energy, sustainable materials and processes, raw material security and resource efficiency, as well as digitalization are consistently reflected across research, study and teaching, and knowledge and technology transfer. In our Future Concept 2030, we have defined our visions, goals, and measures for each area: by 2030, TU Clausthal will be an agile, digital, and sustainable university. The facets of sustainability and circular action permeate all areas—from governance to operations—and are embedded in the development of processes and products.

Climate Protection Concept

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action supports the development of an integrated climate protection concept at TU Clausthal. TU Clausthal has set itself the goal of exploring all possibilities within its sphere of influence to improve climate protection and to counteract climate change using effective methods.

To this end, an institutional climate protection management system will be established and a climate protection concept developed. In addition to assessing the current status—including an energy and greenhouse gas inventory—a catalog of measures and an implementation strategy will be prepared.
