Networks

Sustainability is not limited to universities and higher education institutions. Good ideas for a more sustainable future are implemented by many organizations, which is why active and regular exchange is essential. TU Clausthal is a member of several networks:

  • The Network for Sustainability at Lower Saxony Universities (HochNiNa) has existed since 2018 and aims to promote exchange and collaboration among sustainability officers and representatives at universities in Lower Saxony. TU Clausthal joined the network in 2022. Within the joint project COUNTS, tools are being developed to support greenhouse gas accounting at Lower Saxony universities.
  • The German Association for Sustainability at Universities (DG HochN) was founded in 2020 by participants from the BMBF-funded project Hoch-N. The association’s mission is to continue the successful networking established through the project. TU Clausthal joined the network in 2025.
  • The Recycling Cluster for Strategically Important Metals (REWIMET) is a network of companies, research institutions, and regional authorities. Among other activities, the network facilitates active exchange on sustainability reporting requirements.
  • The Energy Resources Agency Goslar (ERA) has been working in the region since 2007 to promote solar energy, advance energy-efficient renovation of existing buildings, and accelerate reductions in CO₂ emissions.
